The JCLB research project is a born digital edition. The project imports and publishes digital images and metadata of all letters from and to Johann Caspar Lavater (more than 23.000 letters), mostly via importation from the Zurich Central Library (ZBZ), implemented by the Trier Center for Digital Humanities (TCDH). The metadata are visualized on an interactive map of Europe, showing Lavater’s vast network of correspondences. A selection of Lavater’s correspondences is manually transcribed and critically edited (indices, commentary). The manual transcriptions and critical annotations are generated with the tool Transcribo, developed and customized for JCLB by the TCDH.
Die Veranstaltung findet auf Einladung von Prof. Dr. Heiko Hausendorf im Kolloquium «Zum letzten Mal: Neuere Arbeiten aus der Text- und Gesprächslinguistik» am Deutschen Seminar statt.
Mit Vorträgen von Frauke Berndt (Universität Zürich), Daniel Carranza (Harvard University), Joel B. Lande (Princeton University), Dorothea von Mücke (Columbia University) und David Wellbery (University of Chicago)
